if only google (any search engine) could hear me…
242 views Published September 9th, 2007 in Google, Microsoft, Softwares, aol, web 2.0.This is somethin I could say may show up as web 3.0 or may be it become a part of web 2.0. I don’t kno if any of this already in place or have already been working off.
Only google might have the potetial to actually work on it. But perhaps I take google too seriously while search engine giant is busy in “net estates”. Microsoft was real good in catching up as far as the maps are concerned but I really like yahoo’s search results over google. Surely live search is nothing. Google’s search results are now nothing but mess and junk. Though google is good to get anything as fast as within a few hours as soon as it pop up on the web.
First if a search engine could start lookin for the copied data to filter out from its search database. As if a site consist of copied data from another source without a trackback. Google (search engines) should rate that site a lower ranking and put its result to a far lower page of its search results.
Second if only google (search engines) could start searching pictures not by name but by the picture itself. As if I posted (upload to google/search engines) 2 pictures of the same car, It should be able to find all the pictures with the similar make, model and color while taking the data not from the user but from the picture itself.
Same if an ancient/torn map is scanned and then uploaded to google (search engines) it should inline the map into its mapping service to show it online with details.
Videos are a common part of internet. Thanks to google videos and youtube ocourse. If only google (search engines) could start finding the videos not by name but by content. Like if you upload a 2 minute long clips of any movie it should find all the videos with the same content. For example if I upload a video trailer of casino royale it should find me the exact movie out of the all bond movies.

Duplicate content is already penalized.
As for images, audio and video search, there was a lot of research going on to make it feasible. I think Google was also funding a number of such efforts.
