It has anti shake, manual focus and you can even play with the lens, if you are not satisfied with the 12x zoom, which is very powerful though. And believe me, you will rarely shoot at 6MP as the file sizes gets too big, 3MP is quite enough for normal photos. best of luck with your new toy, Its a good choice. It allows to you change lens with different focal lengths, e.g tele, wide or zoom. It also allows you to control light and other effects, e.g. shutter speed, aperture and hence depth of field and so on. If you are a beginner, I would suggest you to buy a simple digital camera as DSLRs are expensive (a Canon 400D can cost you around a 1000 $ if you buy lens and extra stuff). besides you wont be able to use all the functions provided and hence your money goes in waste. first try with a digtial cam and then go for a DSLR. if you are more into photography and want to learn it (and of course have no money), buy a film DSLR (will cost you around 300 $ I guess) and then experiment. However the costs of using it will of course be more as you will have to buy film rolls as well as get them developed/ printed in a lab.
