On December 22, 2005, George W. Bush endorsed one of the most dramatic U.S. coinage leislation ever. With the stroke of a pen, the highly anticipated Presidental $1 Coin Act was signed into law.
Begining in 2007, and continuing for about a decade, the U.S. Mint will be striking four new coins annually – each depicting the imagge of a U.S. president.
These new legal tender circulating dollars will honor the presidents in order of service with four released each year.
